Escape the ordinary and learn the long-lost skills of the wild with our outdoor learning team.
Two options are available: a full day of Bushcraft or a morning of Bushcraft with an archery session after lunch. You can choose when you book.
In a very informal and fun way, we will teach you and your family how to select a site for a camping; how to build a shelter to keep you and your loved ones warm and dry; how to safely and quickly light a small fire using a variety of traditional and modern methods; how to find and treat water for safe drinking and how to cook a basic meal on a real fire.
We will provide all the materials for the fire, cooking implements and some basic food. If you want to bring your own food, that’s fine with us!
We will introduce you and your group to the basics of surviving the day in a temperate environment using well-respected teaching methods including the rule of 3; the fire triangle; the survival triangle and much more.
Depending on the time of year and what plants are in flower, fruit or seed, we will walk you around our woodland and see if we can find any useful gifts from nature… always with a cautious approach to safety (we will not be collecting fungi!)
Hot and cold drinks will be available all day for your group and we have an environmentally friendly toilet for your convenience and comfort near the teaching camp.
Enjoy a fun day in the woods and help your body and mind relax. If you think you would like to continue your learning, speak to one of our coaches about following this day course up with others or an overnight camp in our beautiful woodland.
