Weekend courses start at 3pm on Friday afternoon and finish 3pm on the Sunday.
Some of the things we will cover are:
- Safe use of cutting tools
- How to pitch your tarp and hammock
- Debris shelter building
- Food preparation
- Tree and plant walk
- Water purification
- Making pothangers
- Natural cordage
- An optional part of the course will be learning how to prepare an animal for cooking.
All of these subjects will be covered in a lot more depth and with more practical experience than the day course. You will be staying in your own hammock under a tarp (issued by us).
All courses are self-catering, but we will have extra rations on hand that can be purchased if you run short. Hot and cold drinks supplied (no alcohol to be brought for any of our courses, please).
A kit list will be sent to prospective students and will depend on the season and expected weather. Just in case you are wondering, we do have a toilet on site!
